Tinghuns, a pivotal event for Chinese couples, are evolving fast. This engagement ceremony signals the beginning of a couple’s union, as their families come together and celebrate with them. Traditional as it may sound, tinghuns are becoming trendier and more reflective of the bride and groom’s personalities, more than just of keeping a tradition alive.
Geof & Jacqy, for instance, had a tinghun ceremony that looked so romantic, it almost felt like it was their wedding day. Donning a Mark Bumgarner gown, Jacqy looked as blooming as the lush flowers that decorated their stage. The gown had elaborate back details, apt for her walk backwards towards Geof, who was waiting for her in a dashing light blue suit. Their ceremony was held in the very elegant Restaurant Canton Road at Shangri-la Fort, filled with family and friends who were more than happy about their union.
What an honor to have captured in photographs these moments that their families will forever cherish.
