It’s a given that Japan is a charming place. Its people so interesting, the landscape so diverse and beautiful. It’s a country of contrasts — of peace and chaos (especially in the Tokyo train stations!), of structure and nature. For a wedding photographer like me, it’s the perfect place to explore with a camera. As soon as I set foot, I enjoyed walking the streets and getting lost in its complicated subway system, taking photos as I go.
But how to capture love in a beautiful place? How to communicate, through images, the romance between lovers? Ella and Abe’s photos speak of a love that is sure and secure, against beautiful sakura blooms and the tallest bamboo trees. We did their engagement shoot days after the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. The wind was blowing and the pink leaves falling, and it was just perfect. But as impressive as Japan is, I believe Abe and Ella stood out more with how they look good together and how natural their love shone through every frame.
