Safety First: Your Checklist for a Safe and Healthy Wedding

It’s more than just wearing masks and social distancing.

When you’re going out to buy your groceries, these are already automatic. However, it can get tricky when it’s a scale of a wedding, no matter how small your guest list is.

So there’s tick box number one.

We created a free PDF worksheet that you can print and use as you plan your intimate wedding. You can download it here: http://bit.ly/IntimateWeddingChecklist

Your wedding is important, and this is why you’re not waiting anymore for this heck of a virus to go away. That said, you want it smooth sailing, happy, and a success. And you deserve exactly that kind of a wedding. One that you can look back on with so much fondness and zero regrets.

How? By making sure you plan well, and execute better.

Off the weddings we’ve done so far during this pandemic, our number one tip is to be super strict. Better strict than sorry, is our motto these days. As you go through this list, make sure that you’re able to put a solid, black, permanent proverbial CHECK on every item. Here’s our complete list of safety measures you need to do:

The IATF guidelines change on the fly, so make sure you’re all ears to news and updates. Your wedding location may be under any of the following:

ECQ – mass gatherings are not allowed, everyone must stay at home

MECQ – mass gatherings are limited to 5 persons

GCQ – mass gatherings are allowed at a maximum of 10 persons

Except for a couple of portrait shots (and you may kiss the bride!), you, your guests, and your suppliers must wear masks at all times. Use masks that completely block viruses (surgical masks, N95 masks), instead of cloth masks.

Wearing face shields are highly recommended as well.

It is more respectful now to wave to your guests instead of running to them for bear hugs and beso beso. There’s nothing wrong with reminding everyone to be mindful of this as well. Everyone might be overly excited about finally seeing each other that we forget that we’re supposed to be at least a meter away from each other. It’s completely understandable, since we’ve been away from each other for such a long time already.

If you’re having your wedding at home, you’re the one responsible to ensuring all of these are in place. Otherwise, make sure you check with your choice of venue.

  • Foot bath with disinfectant
  • Thermal scanner (based on which guests with body temperature above 37.5 should be sent home immediately)
  • Rubbing alcohol in spray containers around the room
  • Properly sanitized chairs, venues, and other items
  • No face-to-face sitting arrangements
  • One-way, one-exit policy with visible floor markings
  • Sanitized washrooms and toilets with soap and running water
  • Sanitized trash bins for proper waste disposal
  • Proper ventilation

Your suppliers are there to give you the wedding of a lifetime. They’re talented and skilled in what you booked them for, but they’re also thoughtful of you and your safety.

For your peace of mind, it would be great to set a virtual meeting with them so you can run with them whatever safety protocols they already have in place. As you do this, you’ll also get to familiarize yourself with the best practices for your wedding.

We’re an email away at foreverydayphoto@gmail.com for any questions you may have.

The last item is the most important. After all is said and done, you get to go home with the love of your life. Hopefully, virus-free and healthy.

TESTIMONIALS

The moment we got engaged, Bryan and I knew that we wanted our photos to be bright, light and of course, timeless! Foreveryday was already on top of the list of the major suppliers we needed to book. The night we met them, my heart was so happy knowing that we were in good hands! They didn’t only help us with our photos but also extended their help in choosing other suppliers. Such generous people!

I had the opportunity to work with Foreveryday team twice! Yes, that’s right, twice! They are the photographer of our dreams and we still wonder if their cameras were touched by fairy dust as their pictures were just magical!

- Lara & Wes

We knew you were the one for us the moment we stumbled upon your IG profile! Thank you for capturing our silliest and happiest moments during our wedding. Kudos for turning our awkward poses to model-esque images!
